A cloudy afternoon around Tideswell

After the fog cleared at around 10 a.m. the remainder of the morning was sunny. It clouded over around midday and the afternoon was cloudy, dull and hazy. These photos were taken just before 3 p.m., just as the light was beginning to fade. Temperature at the time was about 5.5C

  • We had a rainy misty day all day on Thursday 15th. Much like I imagine English misty days to be like only tending toward being unusual for us in Mona Vale. The garden loved it all and then hated the 34C day that we had yesterday (Saturday 18th). 31c forecast for Tuesday. It must be summer in Australia. Hope that you have a great Christmas and the weather brings you the sort of day that you hope for.

  • Hi Judy,
Thanks for the response. Nice to know that someone looks at all the stuff!

The computer models are predicting a 940-950 mb low pressure centre tracking NE between Scotland and Iceland on Christmas Day. That means a very windy, showery day across the country. Here in Tideswell it’ll probably be near gale force with frequent sleet and hail showers an a temperature of around 2-4C. A good day for a log fire and a hearty Christmas dinner. Mind you, we won’t be here. We’ll be spending Christmas with our daughter and her family in Sussex.

Have a good Christmas and enjoy a cold one if the weather is a bit hot.

P.S. I have fond memories of seeing in the New Year in 1968 in the surf on Coogee Beach in Sydney with some friends, drinking port out of the bottle! Happy, foolish days!!!!!!!!!
